其次，是用自己在不同领域的实践中(如对各个科目的学习)取得的不同成绩相比较，以发现自己的优点，确定奋斗的目标。
间接的自我评价法，是指通过与他人行为的对照及情况的对比，发现自我熟悉的错位。“不识庐山真面目，只缘身在此山中”，这是一些人不能对自己作出正确的自我评价的原因之一。当事者迷，那么就不妨用与他人相比较的方法及用自己在不同领域中取得的不同成果比较的方法鉴别一下。
